God Chooses Who Goes To Heaven or Hell... Is It Biblical?

                                          Predestination- (2 Peter 3:9)

 Has God predetermined who will or will not go to heaven?  The term predestination in the context of salvation literally means: knowing  who to choose or own before the beneficiary's decision will be made in agreement  with  the  call  to salvation. God who is omniscient already knew in eternity past who would respond in agreement with His offer of eternal life through Christ Jesus by faith (Ephesians 1:3,12).

God predetermined that salvation would be by grace through faith in Christ crucified alone.   Thus, all are afforded the opportunity to be saved (Titus 2:11).   God never predestined that people would go to hell (2 Peter 3:9).  As a matter of fact, hell was purposefully and exclusively prepared for Satan and his angels (Matthew 25:4).  While it is both true and tragic that people are going to hell... they do so at their own choosing.   God has purposed that people would be born to be born again(1 Timothy 2:4). This required God's offer of salvation and man's responsibility to receive God's gift of eternal life by faith. God will never save anyone without their consent (John 1: 12).

Predestination has to do with more than just going to heaven. God has predestined that all who would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ would be conformed to the image of Christ (Romans 8: 29).   It is to every Christian’s advantage to grow in the likeness of Christ.   Life external and internal do not exist apart from Christ (John 15: 1,5). The biblical perspective of God's work of predestination unto salvation is that God achieved it for us so that we can freely choose to receive it by faith (Ephesians 2: 8-9).

Would you reject God offer or willingly accept it by faith alone in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son. “Salvation is found in no- one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved”. (Acts 4:12)

Focus on heavenly things not earthly things.

It’s good to take reasonable care of yourself. But don’t focus so much on your looks that you neglect your soul. Don’t focus so much on staying healthy for this life that you forget about the life to come. The perfect body sought by health fanatics and by people obsessed with looks isn’t really so perfect. Still, there’s a sense in which we should all want a perfect body. God promises those who trust in Jesus that each of us will have a perfect, resurrection body, like Jesus’ glorified body.

Therefore let us think heavenward and set your mind on things above where our treasure is and where Jesus is sited on His glorified throne at the right Hand of God in the Heavenly realms.

"7 Powerful Verses in the Bible that Shocked the World"

Sunday morning while it was still dark…
Soldiers stationed at the tomb of Jesus felt an intense earthquake.
Then they SAW a great light.                                       
A small star in the heavens announced Christ’s birth…
And a powerful light announced his rebirth.
Matthew chapter 28 verse 7 capture this epic event:
1. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
2. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it.
3. His appearance was like lightning and his clothes were white as snow.
4. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
5. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
7. Then go quickly and tell his disciples:
‘He has RISEN from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
One commentator puts it this way:
“Today we remember a sudden burst of LIGHT that tore the veil of the bleak and forlorn darkness of that Sunday morning…
Revealing a risen LORD and conquering Messiah who defeated sin and death by crushing the head of the serpent.”
My prayer for you and your family is this:
Let evil stones be rolled away from your life and family in Jesus name.
That same Power of Resurrection that raised JESUS CHRIST from the dead…
Will quicken every “dead” area of your life and breathe life anew into you and your loved ones…
In Jesus Christ’s name. Amen.

"The Old Rugged Cross"

During a period of spiritual struggling, George Bennard (1873-1958) started to study and contemplate the cross of Christ. Bennard had been very active in the Salvation Army and later was  ordained as a evangelist for the Methodist Episcopal Church. As he studied on the verse Philippians 3:10, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death," Bennard got the theme for a hymn that has become one of the most powerful and  favorite for many, "The Old Rugged Cross."

In 1913, Rev. George Bennard, an evangelist in the Methodist/Episcopal church was “praying for a full understanding of the cross and its plan in Christianity.” Over a period of time he studied more and more about the cross. He prayed and meditated on the cross of Christ, until one day he was able to say, “I saw the Christ of the Cross as if I were seeing John 3:16 leave the printed page, take form and act out the meaning of redemption.”   Through this experience and others in his life he penned the words and wrote the tune to our hymn,

                                     “The Old Rugged Cross.”

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain.

O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world, has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above to bear it to dark Calvary.

In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine, a wondrous beauty I see;
For 'twas on that old dross Jesus suffered and died to pardon ad sanctify me.

To the old rugged cross I will ever be true, its shame and reproach gladly bear;

Lamb of God: Jesus Christ, the lion who became a lamb, came to find and rescue us.

Workshop for Local Church Leaders.

Trainer: Rev Ed Arcton (President, Liberation Mission For Christ)

Venue: Victory Outreach Church, Accra - Ghana

For some attendees, it was their first time experience and  participating in Church Administration and leadership training. The Pastor in Charge, Pastor Moses was part of the workshop. Topics such as the role of Pastors, Elders and Deacons were discussed. Church Administration and Management, Discipleship, Church Disciplines, Membership role and other primary responsibility were also addressed by Rev Arcton.

It was a refresher course for most of the newly appointees into various offices within the local church.

Objective:  To develop better leaders for our local church by providing this training session for learning that each person will understand his/her role in the leadership process of our church.

Purpose:  The Lord Jesus said “Know Ye not that I must be about my Father’s Business…” (Luke 2:49b)

 This Workshop is designed to be a reflection, discussion, study and fellowship session for local church leaders and members.

 Coming together as a family is intended to promote a closer relationship between the precious women and men who provide guidance and direction for the Body of Christ.  Also plan to continue prayerful and careful consideration where we are coming from and where we are going as a local Church desirous of truly being “about my Father’s business” Luke 2:49.

 To improved planning and implementation, better communication and coordination, more vision and creativity rooted in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit and in the Holy Scriptures—these are our primary aims for the workshop.

 With this effort, we continue the process of carrying out the Great Commission and rising up the foundation of many generations in our time and age.

 Rev Arcton provides oversight to this local Church and its leadership.
